San Miguel Archangel de Cayma’s Church

This small church, reconstructed in 1719, is directly opened on the Main Square, even though the cathedral, usually, is the one who obsess the visitor. However, San Miguel is interesting. Violent contrast with the very sober inside, the façade, very detailed, represents elements of the Amazonian forest, luxuriant. Inside, on the contrary, the stone chair give a special sensation. Despite of this, there are very nice paintings. There is also the possibility to visit the cloister and the living-room, as well as walking on the roof, where the view on the town and the surrounding landscapes are probably the most beautiful.
